Apple Launch new iphone5 3D

Well, the answer to that may come sooner than expected.  But, first of all, Apple never follows.  It builds, innovates, and perfects.  We just wanted to make it clear that we understand that.  And now a new job offer at Apple is a sure sign that we may get 3D on our mobile devices yet!  And this is a great step forward especially now that Apple knows that it really has to step up its game.  We all respect that they lost a great leader in Steve Jobs and that all they could really come up with until now were upgrades to the iPhone 4 and iPad.  It makes sense.  But now is the time that they really push things forward and we have no doubt that they will.

Take this ad that they have out, for instance.  They are now looking for a “Computer Vision specialist to strengthn its multi-view stereo research group.”  It goes on to say that the candidate should have a vested interest in “Computer Vision, Image Analysis and 3D geometry.”  And it gets even hotter as we realize that they are looking for an iOS Software Engineer!  All that rolled into one sweet offering to anyone out there who can give us the technology that we all want: at the very least, 3D screens on our mobile devices.

The ad continues to show how one might qualify for the said position with the following text:

To qualify for this position you should have a Ph. D. Degree in a Computer Vision related field such as Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science.  You should be a confident and experienced C programmer.  Most importantly, you should have experience within one or several of the following areas:

Multi-view stereo and 3D reconstruction

Inpainting of occluded geometry and texture data

SLAM

Mesh texturing techniques

Large scale bundle adjustment

Cameras and surfaces in a 3D environment

Iphone Made Glass Phone in process Released in Future

Glass slippers may be a thing for fairy tales but what about glass phones? Yes, you’ve read that right. And its debut to reality might not be so far off either.

Apparently, Apple has filed an application to patent a design for a handheld device that features a case that is made entirely out of glass. The case would be formed from two pieces of glass attached together to make a see-through casing, hermetically sealed to provide water resistance.

Apple has also reportedly included a few advantages to this design in its patent application, saying that glass is “strong, stiff, and radio transparent” and that apart from it being pleasing to the eyes; a seamless glass enclosure will also ensure reduced contamination as well as moisture intrusion into the device.

However, an exterior made of glass may have a few disadvantages – remember the complaints about iPhone 4?. One such downside is that glass can break easily when dropped. And also, since a device like the iPhone contains a lot of sensors, it might spell a bunch of functional problems if housed within this type of enclosure.

Since this is only an application, sources have no idea what type of glass will be used or when we would see an iPhone or iPad encased in all glass. However, as both the iPhone 4 and 4s are made with a combination of glass pieces and a steel frame, it may not be long before Apple produces concept.

iPhone Allows To Be Used In Landscape Mode Multitasking Switcher for IOS

For those who prefer to embark on their iOS journey in a landscape orientation, it may be slightly annoying that certain native apps and parts of the OS  isn’t set-up with landscape support. Apps such as the default Settings app are strictly portrait-only affairs and no matter how ferociously you flip that device around; it refuses to to budge. The same goes for the multitasking switcher tray which can be invoked by double tapping the Home button on the device. The bar that appears along the bottom on the screen containing backgrounded apps is designed to work in portrait mode only.

The SwitcherLand tweak that has recently landed on the Cydia store aims to solve that issue by introducing support for the alternative landscape orientation when the switcher tray has been invoked by the user. It seems a little strange that such behavior hasn’t been built into iOS as standard by Apple, considering that the default behavior is to show the multitasking tray in portrait only mode, even if the open app is in landscape. With that being the case, the whole user experience is tainted when the Home button is tapped twice, meaning that the user has to literally flip the device to use the tray. While that might not seem like a big deal, it does seem to go against the whole seamless flow of iOS that Apple craves so badly.

After installation, SwitcherLand extends the abilities of the switcher tray to support the alternative orientation but still stays true to the original functionality and contains the familiar media controls, Music app access and even a orientation lock option that allows the user to lock the device into landscape orientation. This particular tweak contains no additional icons or settings entries and requires an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 5 or above.
